Who we are

FlatFinder is the data controller for the personal data described here. We are based in the United Kingdom and process data in the UK and EU. For any privacy request, email privacy@flatfinder.co.uk.

What we collect

  • Your email address, so we can sign you in and send alerts.
  • Your saved searches: budgets, locations, beds, must-haves and the details you add to personalise enquiry emails.
  • Your alert preferences, including web push subscriptions if you opt in.
  • Basic technical logs (such as request times) needed to run the service securely.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Why we can use it (lawful basis)

We process your data to deliver a service you asked for: performance of a contract for account, search and alert features. Where you opt in to web push, that specific channel relies on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Keeping the service secure relies on our legitimate interest.

Alert emails and unsubscribe

Every alert email carries a one-click unsubscribe link. Using it turns off email alerts immediately. You can also change or pause alerts from your settings without deleting your account.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data while your account is open. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records to meet a legal obligation. Property listing data itself comes from public and licensed sources and is not personal data about you.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or object to processing. Email us and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Processors and transfers

We use a small number of trusted providers to run FlatFinder: hosting, a database, and a transactional email service. They act on our instructions under contract. Where any provider processes data outside the UK or EU, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK approved transfer terms.
